Equipment Operations & Preventive Maintenance Management

Practical training for safe equipment operation, inspection, documentation, and preventive maintenance in food processing facilities.

Course Code: TAPA-CERT-004 | Duration: 24 Weeks | Delivery: Blended

Course Overview

Equipment Operations & Preventive Maintenance Management is a practical workforce-readiness course for learners who work with, supervise, or support food processing equipment.

The course does not aim to turn learners into engineers within 24 weeks. It trains them to become competent, safety-conscious, documentation-ready equipment operators who can operate common food processing equipment properly, detect early warning signs, support preventive maintenance, reduce downtime, and protect product quality, worker safety, and business continuity.

By the end of the course, learners will develop an equipment operations and preventive maintenance portfolio for a selected machine, production line, or facility.

Why Most Agro-Processing Businesses Lose Money on Equipment

Poor packaging choices that compromises shelf life.

Poor cleaning leads to contamination, corrosion, and faster equipment wear.

Ignoring faults early can result in major equipment failure.

Weak documentation causes costly repairs and operational disruption.

“It’s not just about running the machine; it’s about establishing strict equipment discipline to stop avoidable downtime.”

THE OPERATIONAL TRUTH

10 Weeks Online

Guided lessons through the TAPA LMS with video equipment demonstrations, fault-identification exercises, and SOP templates. Each week produces a practical tool to build an operational portfolio.

Foundation

12 Weeks Practicum

Apply technical skills directly inside approved food processing facilities, training factories, or technical workshops focusing on live machine operation, fault reporting, and scheduled cleanings.

Implementation

2 Weeks Final Project

Compile and present an Equipment Operations and Preventive Maintenance Improvement Report based on your internship facility, outlining clear ways to reduce runtime bottlenecks.

Certification

Certification

What You Will Be Able To Do

Execute safe start-up, operational runtime, cleaning, and shutdown protocols for machinery.
Conduct precise pre/post-operation equipment checks to catch physical signs of wear early.
Manage equipment logbooks, operational checklists, fault reports, and downtime records.
Identify, isolate, and escalate warning signs like abnormal noise, heat, and vibration.
Develop and execute standard preventive maintenance schedules and tracking intervals.
Apply strict safety, machine guarding, and PPE precautions to protect production lines.
"You don't leave with notes. You leave with an inspection-ready Equipment Operations Portfolio."
